I was doing a music documentary in Jamaica 2007 for Swedish tv. I did an interview/jam session with some of my biggest musical heroes in Earl ”Chinna” Smith´s famous Back Yard. The vibe was great and we decided to book studio time and record a song the following day. There was no time to write a song so I picked a favorite from a favorite band. The Kinks.”Dead End Street”. Working class reality! In the reggae world a sufferers chune . I ended up going back a year later and I recorded a whole album . ”Papa dee meets the Jamaican Giants”. For different reasons this song didn’t end up on the album. I decided to revisit and finish the song with the great Dennis Bovell. We did the vocals some overdubs and Dennis mixed it to perfection. So finally -Dread End Street 2023
